I've Waited Too Long For This

I have been waiting to get my revenge for so long.  I came to my home after twenty years and I have watched these suitors freeload off of me while they think I am dead.  I have watched them woo my wife, wishing to marry the entire time.  And now, now I can finally do what I have wanted to do for weeks and weeks.  They will pay for the anger they have instilled in me.  I will make them suffer like they have done to me.  Antinous will go first, and then every suitor that has been in my household.  They will be sorry for everything they have done.

Ithaca As a Beggar

Being a beggar is so tedious.  I just want to see my wife as who I really am.  Telemachus is the only person on the entire island who knows who I am, and now I am going to be beaten before seeing my wife as her husband and not this poor man, and I am worried the plan will not succeed as planned and I, or worse, Telemachus will get badly injured.  Antinous is a very cruel person.  He did not even give me a morsel of his food, as all the other suitors gave me much more than a morsel.  I really want to get this plan over with so I may just have my life back.

I'm Back Home Again

I am so glad to finally be home. I don't know why Athena wants me to act as a stranger and do these things when i could just go home.  Seeing my wife and her not recognizing me was really tough.  It's been 20 long years and I finally come home, Telemachus is away in Sparta, Eumaeus thinks I will not return, and my wife does not recognize me.  This is not easy.  I wonder how the ship and crew who brought me home are doing.  I wish to thank them for their kind deed.  I hope to see them again some day.

Slaughtering the Cattle

I am not happy with my crew.  More than once now they have disobeyed me.  First the bag full of wind I told them not to open, but no.  They didn't trust my judgement.  They didn't believe me when I told them not to open it, but they had to try find out.  Now I tell them, by any means, do not kill any cattle.  No exceptions.  And what did my men do?  They went off and killed the cattle.  Eurylochusis really getting on my nerves with all the mischief he has created.  I don't know why i haven't gotten rid of him yet.  I really don't know why...
